THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD:
When a princess is shrunk by an evil wizard, the dauntless Sinbad and a shifty magician with ulterior motives head to the island of Colossa, where only the egg of a giant bird can restore the princess to normal size. But before the group can return home they must conquer a landscape of fantastic beasts that hunger for human flesh. Harryhausen’s first film in color was selected by the Library of Congress in 2008 for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry.
JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS:
Mythical Greek hero Jason’s quest for the Golden Fleece is packed with oldfashioned matinee thrills and iconic phantasms aplenty. Considered by historians and fans to be Harryhausen’s masterpiece, the iconic actors vs. skeletons fight sequence reportedly took over four months to complete. Both films in this double feature include notable scores by the great Bernard Herrmann.
