Nominated for 6 Academy Awards®, including: Best Picture, Best Actress (Saoirse Ronan), Best Supporting Actress (Florence Pugh), Best Adapted Screenplay (Greta Gerwig), Best Costume Design, and Best Original Score.

Drawing from both the classic novel and the personal writings of Louisa May Alcott, writer-director Greta Gerwig’s LITTLE WOMEN unfolds with Alcott’s alter ego, Jo March, reflecting back and forth on her fictional life as a young adult. Gerwig’s modernized interpretation of the beloved story of the March sisters—four young women each determined to live life on her own terms—is both timely and timeless. Starring Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh and Eliza Scanlen—portraying Jo, Meg, Amy and Beth March—with Timothée Chalamet as their neighbor Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee and Meryl Streep as Aunt March.

“Gerwig’s film is less an update than it is an excavation—a kind of literary investigation of the characters, and their writer, and what they all really wanted. The result is a meta tale that cracks open the world of Little Women to make a larger point about the stories we tell about women and girls.” —Amanda Hess, New York Times

“...If you wondered after seven—count ’em—seven film versions if we really needed an eighth, the answer is yes. Gerwig has found a way to take this pre-Victorian period piece about the lives and loves of four sisters and make it vital for audiences today. Setting it completely apart from previous versions, she tells the story of the March family in a risky, nonlinear style that pays off nicely.” —Pete Hammond, Deadline

“Like the author, the director is a cultural iconoclast with an ability to shift our perceptions. In Greta Gerwig, Jo March has met her match.” —Lucy Siegle, Guardian
