Gorgeously restored, seminal independent filmmaker Shirley Clarke’s (The Connection) ORNETTE captures legendary performances by jazz iconoclast Coleman, filmed everywhere from Fort Worth to Morocco. Enriched by interviews with family, friends and fans (including William Burroughs and Buckminster Fuller) and a vivid recreation of his childhood, this is a kaleidoscopic portrait of a truly singular artist.

    On Sunday, September 23 , following the 6:00pm screening, a conversation with Rahsaan Barber, professional saxophonist; and Ron Wynn, freelance journalist and music critic and contributor to Jazz Times.
