This Fusion special features doctors, midwives, doulas, mothers, and advocates who are working to address the systemic issue. A panel on maternal mortality and what can be done about this epidemic which disproportionately affects black women in Tennessee will follow. The goal of this week is to increase awareness of Black maternal health in the U.S. and the root causes of poor maternal health outcomes, including Black maternal mortality.

Healthy and Free Tennessee is a nonpartisan statewide coalition of groups and individual working together to promote sexual and reproductive health and freedom in Tennessee by advancing policies and practices which recognize these elements as essential to the overall well-being of all individuals and communities.

A panel discussion will follow the screening.
