    LOW DOWN director Jeff Preiss will attend the screening for a post-film discussion.

    Based on Amy Jo Albany's memoir, LOW DOWN explores her heart-wrenching journey to adulthood while being raised by her father, bebop pianist Joe Albany, as he teeters between incarceration and addiction in the urban decay and waning bohemia of Hollywood in the 1970s.

    About Sundance Film Festival USA: For the fifth year, the Belcourt has been selected by the Sundance Film Festival to screen a specially selected film as part of Sundance Film Festival USA, a program designed to introduce the Festival experience to film-loving audiences nationwide. This year, the Belcourt will screen LOW DOWN, directed by Jeff Preiss. This will be the film’s first screening outside of the Sundance Film Festival.
