A MIGHTY WIND (35mm)

Part of SNL Cinematic Universe and Music City Mondays

All Screenings: Pre-recorded introduction from SNL cast member and Belcourt member James Austin Johnson

When folk icon Irving Steinbloom passed away, he left a legacy of music and a family of performers he had shepherded to folk stardom: Mitch & Mickey (Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hare) were the epitome of young love until their partnership was torn apart by heartbreak; classic troubadours The Folksmen (Michael McKean, SNL buds Christopher Guest, who directs, and Harry Shearer); and The New Main Street Singers (featuring John Michael Higgins, Jane Lynch and Parker Posey), the most meticulously color-coordinated “neuftet” ever to hit an amusement park near you. Now, for one night only in New York City’s Town Hall, these three groups will reunite and gather together to celebrate the music that almost made them famous as they generate A Mighty Wind. The fourth film in a string of belly laugh-inducing mockumentaries from SNL cast member Christopher Guest. Presented in 35mm
