For over a decade, Rutherford County arrested and illegally jailed hundreds, maybe thousands, of children. In partnership with Serial Productions and The New York Times, “The Kids of Rutherford County” is a four-part narrative series reported and hosted by WPLN’s Peabody Award-winning journalist Meribah Knight that reveals how this came to be, the adults responsible for it, and the two lawyers, former juvenile delinquents themselves, who try to do something about it.

We are honored to host Meribah in conversation with Madeleine Baran, the award-winning host of the investigative true crime podcast, In the Dark. Together, they will shed light on their reporting process and the impact of journalism in confronting systemic issues.

Listen to the show at wpln.org/kids or wherever you listen to podcasts.
