Donna (Meryl Streep), an independent hotelier in the Greek islands, is preparing for her daughter’s wedding with the help of two old friends. Meanwhile, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), the spirited bride, has a plan — she secretly invites three men from her mother’s free-wheeling past (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgård) in hopes of meeting her real father and having him escort her down the aisle on her big day.

This star-studded jukebox musical adapted from the long-running hit musical of the same name (and featuring the infectiously catchy tunes of Swedish pop supergroup ABBA) is the perfect way to usher out the summer vacation season in style. Send an SOS to all your Dancing Queens and Take a Chance on MAMMA MIA!

“MAMMA MIA is the most fun to be had at the movies this or any other recent summer…. It’s a delightful piece of filmmaking with a marvelous cast topped by Meryl Streep in one of her smartest and most entertaining performances ever.” —Ray Bennett, Hollywood Reporter (Jun 28, 2008)

“If you insist on folding your arms, looking at your watch and defending yourself against this mindless, hedonistic assault on coherence, you are unlikely to survive until the end credits. Surrender, on the other hand, is easy and painless. It's Greece! It's bellybuttons! It's Meryl Streep! It's Abba!” —A.O. Scott, New York Times (Jul 17, 2008)

“The good-natured silliness is contagious. When Streep runs singing through a Greek village, it's like a spirited homage to THE SOUND OF MUSIC.” —Claudia Puig, USA Today
