Part of Midnight Movies
The Arts For The Living Center in New York City is preparing for a major opportunity — some of its students may be asked to join an upcoming Broadway production! The chance to dance on Broadway is a great one, but so is the pressure to succeed — and exceed all others. So when a mad killer turns up, wielding a hatpin and a heart turned against humanity, what started out A CHORUS LINE has now gone FRIDAY THE 13TH! Starring Olga Karlatos (who memorably lost a fight with a giant splinter in Fulci’s ZOMBIE and also played Prince’s Mom in PURPLE RAIN this same year) as the head of the dance school, Euro horror icon Geretta Geretta (DEMONS, SMITHEREENS, SHOCKING DARK), and the enigma that is Ray Lovelock (FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE). This was Fulci’s last proper giallo, and as such is a landmark in the genre. With score and songs by Keith Emerson (yes, that one)! Restoration Premiere!
“I literally expected nothing and was rewarded with some great fun. Your ability to enjoy flashdancing and ‘80s outfits may impact your enjoyment of this film.” —Sam Panico, B&S About Movies “Leotards; leg warmers; giallo films; Fulci; infectious 80’s dance music; dance routines that look like they’re a combination of Flashdance, Showgirls, and the creepy cheer from Bring It On. MURDERROCK has it all!” —Sarah James, Robot Geek’s Cult Cinema
