Alejandro — played by writer/director Julio Torres (Saturday Night Live) — is an aspiring toy designer from El Salvador, struggling to bring his unusual ideas to life in New York City. As time on his work visa runs out, a job assisting an erratic art-world outcast (Tilda Swinton) becomes his only hope to stay in the country and realize his dream in this surreal adventure through the equally treacherous worlds of New York City and the U.S. immigration system. Co-starring RZA and Isabella Rossellini, among others.

“Torres has an active imagination and whatever he is thinking is exactly what we see on screen. He’s taken a simple story about immigration and human connection, and turned it into a comedic, surrealist fantasy that serves as an epic critique of capitalism. Even if the concept is kookie, it’s still a style of storytelling that distinctly belongs to Torres; no one would be able to pull this off except him.” —Valerie Complex, Deadline

“Writer-director Julio Torres’ debut feature is both a breath of fresh air and a force to be reckoned with…The film’s use of satire recalls Torres’ work at SNL, such as the viral sketch “Papyrus” which highlights the subtle quirks of everyday life with melodrama and hyperbole. As expected, his humor lands squarely.” —Weiting Liu, Mediaversity Reviews
