Sat, Nov 30 at Midnight: Introduction from musician and Belcourt staff member Erin Thompson | BUY TICKETS

For teenager Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway), just surviving each school day is an adventure. But when shocking news about the death of her long-absent father arrives, Mia discovers that he was the prince of Genovia, making her a real-life princess. With her friends Lilly (Heather Matarazzo) and Michael Moscovitz (Robert Schwartzman) in tow and with the help of Queen Clarisse Renaldi (Julie Andrews), she tries to navigate through the rest of her 16th year. So begins a comical transformation towards poise and princess-ness, including a media storm, jealous schoolmates and a plot to take over her country.

“Gets the duckling-to-swan ambivalence just right.” —Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly

“Easily out-charms it's animated stablemates of the past decade.” —Ed Park, Village Voice
