FADE TO BLACK

Part of Midnight Movies

Sat, Feb 21 at Midnight: Introduction from Jason Shawhan, senior film critic at the Nashville Scene | BUY TICKETS

Eric Binford is a massive movie nerd who works at a 35mm print shipping depot — and spends all of his free time watching old films. He knows every esoteric bit of Tinseltown trivia, but nothing about how to interact with other people. Tormented by his colleagues, Eric drifts further into a dream world where he embodies the screen characters he worships. The teasing pushes him too far, and he dons the outfits of his big-screen idols to kill off his bullies in outrageous recreations of his favorite movie scenes!

With ample footage cut in from film classics, the ghosts of old Hollywood haunt FADE TO BLACK and leak through into the rotting Hollywood Boulevard of 1980. One of the ultimate movies about movies, and another career-defining performance for the unique actor Dennis Christopher (BREAKING AWAY).
