Part of Heist!

The story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands’ criminal activities. Set in a tumultuous contemporary Chicago, tensions build when Veronica (Oscar winner Viola Davis), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki) and Belle (Cynthia Erivo) take their fate into their own hands and conspire to forge a future on their own terms.

Deftly using his sublime ensemble, director Steve McQueen (Small Axe, 12 YEARS A SLAVE) flips the traditionally male-dominated genre on its head and brings his signature emotional gravity to this blistering, modern-day thriller set against the backdrop of crime, passion and corruption.

“Filled with wild beauty, heart-thumping grotesquerie and even some good ol' soapy treachery.” —Soraya Nadia McDonald, The Undefeated

“A thriller for modern women who identify more with the messiness of human lives than with flattened slogans about how great women, as a monolithic group, are.” —Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine

“If all heist movies were like this, I'd never leave the multiplexes.” —Moira Macdonald, Seattle Times
