COCOON

Residents of a Florida rest home get a new lease of life when they stumble across an alien “fountain of youth” in a disused holiday home. Unbeknown to them, aliens have been using the swimming pool in the house to store their cocooned brethren, giving the waters a powerful, rejuvenating quality. Don Ameche (1985 Academy Award®, Best Supporting Actor), Hume Cronyn, Jack Gilford, Maureen Stapleton, Jessica Tandy, Gwen Verdon, Wilford Brimley and Steve Guttenberg star in this charming fantasy adventure from director Ron Howard.

“COCOON is a sly and salty bit of wish fulfillment that, by its tremendous close, has its entire audience wishing along with it. The combined energy it generates is probably enough to raise the Titanic.” —Sheila Benson, Los Angeles Times (1985)

“With James Horner's jazzy, whimsical score driving the narrative, COCOON is a delight to watch from start to finish…. While director Ron Howard has gone on to bigger better movies, COCOON still remains one of his very best.” —R.L. Shaffer, IGN
