General Admission: $30 | Belcourt/Porch Members: $25
Join the Belcourt for a writing workshop inspired by Kristen Stewart’s feature directorial debut, based on Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir. In the film, Lidia (Imogen Poots) begins to heal from an abusive childhood through her writing practice. In this “Writing for Healing” workshop, we’ll introduce core principles and best practices of expressive writing, an approach grounded in decades of research linking reflective writing to reduced stress, improved mood and greater overall well-being. Through guided prompts, participants will explore their inner lives on the page in ways that support healing, wellness, insight and “the examined life.”
Presented in conjunction with Kristen Stewart’s THE CHRONOLOGY OF WATER, opening at the Belcourt on Fri, Feb 6. See the film on your own, then join us for the workshop. Movie tickets sold separately.
