Lights, Camera, Nashville! A Cinematic Tour of Music City

Lights, Camera, Nashville! A Cinematic Tour of Music City is a free, self-guided driving and walking tour that highlights the city’s cinematic history. This 20-mile tour features 15 stops, including theaters, filming locations, and cultural landmarks that have played a significant role in Nashville’s on-screen presence for over a century. You can explore iconic sites like the Belcourt Theatre, the Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Cafe, among others, which have all shaped stories in films, television and music videos, from cult classics to Oscar winners.

This tour was created by Nashville Sites in partnership with the Belcourt Theatre in honor of its 100th birthday, with support from Tom Wills. Belcourt historian T. Minton and MTSU graduate student Amelie Andalle researched and wrote the tour, which is narrated by Demetria Kalodimos, executive producer at the Nashville Banner and owner of Genuine Human Productions and the Film Station.

The project aims to celebrate Nashville’s unique legacy as a filming location for both Hollywood and local productions, encouraging audiences to explore the city beyond its well-known music and food scenes. Lights, Camera, Nashville! offers a fresh perspective for locals and visitors to discover the city’s starring role in American entertainment, complete with historic stops and behind-the-scenes trivia.
