As the Belcourt celebrates its 100th birthday (and our 25th year as a nonprofit) we launch an ongoing project exploring the history of films shot in and around Nashville — and others that tie more broadly to both the Belcourt’s and Nashville’s cinema and cultural history. From studio-backed features to scrappy indie productions, these films capture a city in flux and reflect a legacy that continues to evolve — much of it intersecting with the Belcourt’s own past.

We’re very pleased to welcome Science on Screen® back to the Belcourt. Funded through a grant by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and Coolidge Corner Theatre, this annual series pairs lively introductions and expert-led discussions of scientific topics with screenings of feature and documentary films. Science on Screen® is an initiative of the Coolidge Corner Theatre, with major support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

This April, grab yourself a damn fine cup of coffee and gather round the Belcourt big screen to bask in the glow of the entire first season of David Lynch and Mark Frost’s groundbreaking television series. When homecoming queen Laura Palmer dies under strange and violent circumstances, FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper arrives in the sleepy small town of Twin Peaks and soon finds himself wrapped in a mystery that defies all logic and reason. Join us each Wednesday night for exciting twists and turns, Log Lady introductions, and much more. But beware… The owls are not what they seem.

Grammy-winning vocal band Roomful of Teeth joins forces with musician, writer, and storyteller Gabriel Kahane for a boundary-defying celebration of the human voice, featuring a special performance of Kahane's intimate "Elevator Songs."

Join us for an evening of thoughtful engagement with the powerful student film THE INSIDE SCHOLARS. Doors open at 6:30pm with light refreshments available. Movie starts at 7:00pm. Panel discussion to follow.

The mystery continues! The legendary television series from Mark Frost and David Lynch returns to the big screen at the Belcourt with a slice of intrigue and a fresh pot of twists and turns. As the Laura Palmer investigation unravels, FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper faces new and greater threats from his past, present and future.
