WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

Part of Summer at the Movies.

Dubbed “The Most Messed-Up Kids Movie of All Time” by the Nashville Scene, WILLY WONKA’s more sinister aspects were initially underplayed by Paramount, whose promotion was directly and rather unscrupulously targeted to families — enough to earn it a questionable G rating. Nonetheless, it remains a colorful, grandiose spectacle with a heart as golden as the heart (and ticket) of its young protagonist, Charlie Bucket.
